Biography
Ali Rishwaan began his professional journey as an Assistant Material Management Officer at Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), where he gained valuable knowledge and experience in procurement and logistics. However, his passion for art and design led him to take on freelance work in his spare time. After working for two years at MTCC, Mr. Rishwaan decided to pursue his passion full-time and resigned to work as a freelance designer. In 2018, Mr. Rishwaan accepted an offer for a designer position at Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), where he worked for four years. As the sole designer at MIFCO, he gained a wealth of experience in various areas, including internal corporate designs and marketing designs. He is responsible for creating product labels, portfolios, annual reports, and designing for corporate and international events. In addition to his professional career, Mr. Rishwaan has also engaged in his academic interests in graphics and multimedia. He is currently undertaking a Bachelor Degree in Multimedia and Graphics Designing. He is also well-known in traditional art circles by the name "Cartman Ayya" and he serves as Vice-Chairperson of The Maldivian Artist Community (MAC), the largest art NGO in the Maldives. He has completed various personal projects of both traditional and digital art for government, corporates, and resorts. Some of his notable personal projects include illustrating the Dhivehi Language Grade 2 book for the Ministry of Education in late 2015, creating art installations at Central Park in Hulhumale' for the Housing Development Corporation in early 2017, managing and curating eight traffic awareness art installations for the Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation in early 2019, company branding and product design work for Kayla Maldives in mid-2019, managing and painting wall murals at Dh. Rinbudhoo Cultural Street, organized by Maldivian Artist Community in early 2020, managing and painting a 100ft wall mural at STELCO wall Boduthakurufaanu Magu for the Home Ministry of Maldives, organized by Maldivian Artist Community in mid-2021, completing the UKIYO wall mural project for the Ritz Carlton Resort Fari Islands Maldives in mid-2021 and Baseline Chemical Assessment Report layout and design works for Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology in late 2022 and STELCO Annual Report 2021 Layout and Design works in late 2022. Mr. Rishwaan is a famous artist and a flourishing name as a graphics designer in the Maldivian Corporate Market, He continues to prosper with his unique talent in both digital and traditional art.
