Biography
My passion for the visual arts led me to join Television Maldives, a platform to study the craft of video creation. My initial works and its acceptance by the viewers, paved the way for opportunities for television production training in Japan and Malaysia. In a variety of productions I did at TVM, I did attempt new concepts, techniques, and treatments previously never applied in local productions. My first music video, "Rhythm of the Waves," which was released in 1990, is particularly noteworthy for setting new standards in shot composition, visual effects, and direction. Furthermore, "Salhibaisaa," was a show that combined dark humor and satire. It attained enormous popularity among the audience. The show made the list of the TVM's top creations of all time. A production facility under a company called Eternal Pictures Pvt. Ltd were established in 1993. Since then, I have worked in all the departments of film and television productions over the past 35 years, from being a spot boy to writing screenplays, editing, producing, directing, etc. I've accomplished few milestones in my 35-year career, including 23 national film awards for my films. I received the national award from the Maldivian government in 2010 in honor of my continuous efforts and contributions to the development of the visual arts.
